Congratulations to Professor Gary Schmidt on the successful writing of "Trouble." I was fascinated with the plot and the characterization. The novel reminded me of two novels that I teach on the high school level--"A Lesson Before Dying" and "Cry, the Beloved Country." I love the transformation of character in those two novels, and I thought "Trouble" had that same characteristic. Thanks to Gary Schmidt for an outstanding novel.
