This link contains a really wonderful exploration of the connection between the Maundy Thursday story and the U2 song "Until the End of the World." Bono really clinches it in the last verse of the song: "In my dream I was drowning my sorrows/ But my sorrows they learned to swim./ Surrounding me, going down on me/ Spilling over the brim./ In waves of regret, waves of joy/ I reached out for the one I tried to destroy./ You, you said youd wait until the end of the world."
The power of grace continues to surprise me.
Thanks to Beth at U2 Sermons for pointing out the link to me.
